the best of something doesn't have to be your favorite,
as much as it sometimes feels that way.

maybe it caters to your interests,
maybe it draws the eye,
maybe you feel a strong emotional connection to it.
or maybe you have one of the thousands of other possible reasons.
there is no shame in that.
people should be able to enjoy media free of judgement, and guilty pleasures shouldn't have to be guilty. it took me far too long to realize this for myself, and it lifted a huge weight off my shoulders. so this is a safe space to analyze and compare critical and general audience takes on movies with those of myself and the people close to me in order to provide different viewpoints. infamously terrible, so-bad-it's-good, beloved classic cinema, there is always a debate to be had (a friendly and cordial one, of course). and who knows, maybe you can change some minds in the process.
